Lone Wolf / Solo FAQs

When can I start?

The challenge officially starts at midnight.

However, you can start at any point in the 48 hour window as long as you finish within the time limit.

Do you have to complete the 100K in one go?

No, you can breakdown the 100K as you wish within the 48 hour time limit.

How do we submit results once we have finished?

Visit our all-time results page for details on how to submit your results. Note you can be an official finisher without submitting your results for full verification. If results are verified then there are strict rules to follow so please read before taking on the challenge.

What happens if my watch / phone runs out of battery before I finish?

We need to know that you have completed the challenge and we will need GPS evidence for the official leaderboard.

So make sure your watch or phone is fully charged before you set off. Take a battery pack if you are tracking your run on your phone and keep topped up.

For a watch, adjust settings to save battery life and save and sync to another device if the battery is going to run out.

Ultimately don’t panic if this happens. It’s just a challenge, but be prepared and grab some evidence in some way, then keep on running.

Can I fundraise for the challenge?

Absolutely, in addition to the donation made as part of your entry fee we want to raise even more for FareShare and other good causes.

You can share our community fundraising page below https://www.justgiving.com/wolfpack-100

Or start your own fundraising page linked to our event via JustGiving. If you raise £500 for taking part in this event we will refund your entry.

Team FAQs

How many can we have in a team?

Teams for the Wolfpack 100 can be anywhere from 2 to 100 in size. You just have to run/walk at least 1K each.

Do we have to complete the same distances?

No, you can do different distances to complete the 100K challenge in 48 hours (i.e. team member 1 runs 40K, team members 2, 3 and 4 run 20K each = 100K).

Do we have to take part together?

No, the challenge is designed to be virtual. However, where restrictions allow you can run with somebody else.

Do we have to take part as a relay team?

No, you can all walk, run or bike whenever you’d like to over the weekend.

However, we have found that taking part as a relay team (i.e. only one person moving at any one time) adds something different to the challenge and is a lot of fun.

How do we submit results once we have finished?

This is very much a challenge and not a race, but we’d still love to know how you did so we can confirm you have completed the challenge.

Please can the team captains from each team submit the following information when you have finished the challenge:

  1. Team name
  2. Number of legs completed (e.g. if you have 3 entrants and each entrant completes 2 run/walks each that would be 6 legs)
  3. Total time (maths homework, add up the collective time of all your runs and walks, if you want to round up the seconds that is absolutely fine)
  4. Total distance (we know some teams may run/walk more than 100K)
  5. Optional: any photos you are OK for us to use on social media.

No need to submit any GPS evidence (but feel free, if you’d like). Captain integrity!

Submit the above info to one of the following: our Wolfpack 💯 Crew Facebook group or message us via email.

Can our team fundraise for the challenge?

Absolutely, in addition to the donation made as part of your entry fee we want to raise even more for FareShare and other good causes.

You can share our community fundraising page below https://www.justgiving.com/wolfpack100

Or start your own fundraising page linked to our event via JustGiving. For every £500 raised for taking part in this event we will give refund your entry up to the number of members in your wolfpack.

Safety Information

Health and fitness check

This is an unsupported virtual event. You should be sufficiently fit and healthy to participate in the race unaided, for your own safety and to avoid any use of emergency services. If you are in any doubt, we recommend that you seek medical advice and/or defer your entry to a later date in the year.

Entrants are advised to stay local and may also consider loops of a route to reduce the distance from home.

Entrants should stop taking part in the challenge if they feel unwell and are unable to continue.

Wearing your race number/bib

All entrants have been provided with a race number. If you have not received one 48 hours before the event, please contact us for a digital version that you can print at home. This should be worn when taking part.

On the reverse you should enter your name, emergency contact details and any relevant medical information.

We also recommend telling your emergency contact and/or someone else when you are taking part in the event and when you expect to be home.

Road safety

Entrants are responsible for setting a suitable route to take part in the Wolfpack 100.

Please consider these safety tips for running (Run Britain) and cycling (Think!) if your route takes you onto any roads.

We do not recommend listening to music through headphones if you are on or crossing a road.

Checking weather conditions

All entrants should check weather conditions before taking part and prepare appropriately. Entrants should defer entry if they are not comfortable with risk.
Check the weather where you are.

Covid-19 guidance

You should defer your entry if you develop symptoms or have to self-isolate over the race weekend.

If you are taking part outside the U.K. please refer to the government guidance in that country. Please contact us if you need to defer your entry for any reason.

Listening to music

We know that many entrants enjoy listening to music when running, walking or biking. If you do, please continue to be mindful of your surroundings and remove headphones or turn off any music when required. We do not recommend listening to music through headphones if you are on or crossing a road.

Food and hydration

All entrants are responsible for appropriate food and hydration while take part in the Wolfpack 100. If you have concerns consider completing shorter loops where you can return to a self-created ‘aid station’.

Our nutrition partner Veloforte has provided a 25% discount on all their nutrition products. Please message us for details.

You may like to post on our Wolfpack 💯 Crew Facebook group and ask how others are preparing too.

Taking part on your own

This is an unsupported virtual event. You take part in the event at your own risk. If you do not feel comfortable taking part on your own or with someone else at this time, you can defer entry to any point in 2022.

If you do take part on your own, we recommend telling your emergency contact and/or someone else when you are taking part in the event and when you expect to be home. You should also ensure that you carry a mobile phone in case of an emergency and ensure you are happy with the route(s) you are taking.

Taking part at night

The Wolfpack 100 is a 48 hour event. You take part in the event at your own risk and should be mindful of taking part at night. There is sufficient time in daylight hours to complete the challenge if you prefer to.

If you do take part at night you should follow the overall documented safety guidance and also ensure you have suitable gear such as a head torch and high visibility clothing.

We have also written a blog on night time running adventures in the dark.
